Jerusalem - Reaching Dayton
FHCC reaches out to Dayton and Montgomery County in a variety of ways. We partner with the Life Enrichment Center which cares for the homeless and hurting people by providing meals, clothing, health care screenings, computer training, etc.
We send volunteers to the Miami Valley Women’s Center which focuses on women and their unborn children. These volunteers provide counseling, leadership and prayer support to the ministry. FHCC congregation also offers financial support and collects newborn supplies.
Angel Tree, a ministry of Prison Fellowship International, is our yearly hands-on Christmas project. FHCC congregation participates by providing and delivering Christmas gifts to children of incarcerated parents.
We provide Bible study and discipleship programs to a local prison facility on a weekly basis. Yearly, we support One Day With God, A Reconciliation Program for incarcerated men and their families. Our finances help to support a make-over for the mom and fun opportunities with the children.
Several of our small groups, children through adults, have adopted various inner city projects of sharing the love of Christ in practical ways through Acts of Kindness.
Although 11.3% of the Montgomery County population is estimated at below the poverty line, we also recognize that we are also called to share the love of Christ with the affluent of our Jerusalem. In light of this, Far Hills Church continues to fulfill this calling by passing out coffee, newspapers, light bulbs, etc. to businesses and neighborhoods surrounding FHCC property.
Finally, FHCC offers a unique outreach which is called Date Nite. Families of special needs children are provided a free evening out while their children are cared for within our Far Hills home. For many families this is their only opportunity to have a renewing break from the overwhelming task of caring for their special needs children.
